Coffee Club VP - Classic Cheeseburger

The Classic Cheeseburger from The Coffee Club VP was a good burger, with greatly contrasted flavours, however, it didn't quite blow my socks off.

The Coffee Club menu lists this burger as;

Beef patty, lettuce, tomato, double cheese, grilled onion, Dijon mayo, tomato sauce.

I'll start this one with the negatives, the chips.

They were included in the price of the burger (which for the price, I expected), and I dare say were probably a bit undercooked as they were very powdery in parts, and lacked much flavour, the seasoning was a little light.

The burger though, was quite good, the doubled cheese was bold and bitey, and the Dijon mayo, and tomato sauce were a fantastic contrast that pleased my tastebuds thoroughly.

The size of the patty was decent, a good serve, and the burger in a whole tasted very good, however, didn't blow me away.

The VP Coffee Club is located in the VP shopping center and so they have done well with what they have, but it's not quite as nice as dedicated restaurants, as they obviously have more creative freedom.

The Round Up

Price:

$17.90 for burger and chips.

Value:

$17.90 for a franchise burger hurts, and is one of the biggest reasons I don't eat at the Coffee Club often

Presentation:

Good looking burger, presented well.

Taste:

Good, well contrasted flavours, a flavourful journey.

Sides:

Chips, a little undercooked.

Venue:

Placed in a larger shopping center, they do well with what they have.

Prep Time:

Slower than most, but also always very busy, so I can allow the little extra time they took.
