Dodgy Adam's Dodgy Burgers - Ow My Arteries
10 / 10
The Ow My Arteries was one of the most intense burgers I have eaten in my many centuries in this world. El Gringo's was born for burgers like this.
After writing in my Grill'd review that Adam has made better burgers, he really turned up the heat and invited me out for a new burger, one he came up with as he went, seemingly lead by the burger gods themselves.
And it certainly turned out like he was - this burger fed my soul.
The Ow My Arteries is described as;
Adam's secret burger sauce, mixed with salad. Adam's special mince patty, cheddar slices, served on two full, unsliced, brioche buns.
This burger has a lot of secrets, and after tasting it I understand fully why that is. The secrets in this burger should never be given away.
Eating this burger, my mind was rushed with likenesses. I likened this burger to an aged scotch, and to the wild west.
This burger had a very strong, and intense flavour, with serious kick, but not one that left me sweating, or needing relief of any sort. This burger was prepared in a home kitchen, by none other than Adam himself. It was extremely thicc, and extremely juicy, but still felt clean. This burger went down easily, and made itself at home, it was a fine guest, and one I'd have again.
Plates were left clean, and that alone was no small feat as these burgers were huge. So big, that no sides were provided, or were necessary, and I was left feeling very, very satisfied.
The patty was huge, near 250g of premium angus mince, served with two slices of melting cheddar cheese, a salad mixed with Adam's secret burger sauce, and placed lovingly between two whole, unsliced brioche buns.
This burger really was the tastiest I've had yet, I enjoyed every bite, the flavour was so intense, and like none I'd ever had before. This man, could easily run a burger place, and it would be loved dearly, by myself included.
If you ever get the chance, eat here, and order this burger.
The Round Up
Price:
Cost me nothing, how good!
Value:
Unbeatable.
Presentation:
A good looking burger, on a plate, nothing else needed in this case.
Taste:
Insane, nothing like this has every graced my tastebuds before, the secret spices, and sauces used in this burger would be worth a fortune in the public market.
Sides:
None needed, none supplied.
Venue:
Placed off a calm Birkdale street, easy to find, with free parking (albeit street parking). Stevie Ray Vaughan was playing at one stage, which was a nice touch.
Although this meal was had in a very clean and modern home while eating it was transformed into an old timey bar, with a strong wild west saloon feel. I just don't think you could get a burger like this in any modern place nowadays.
Prep Time:
Nice and quick, and a great conversation was kept with the cook and other guests, keeping things light and entertaining, so I can't complain here at all, especially considering four burgers were prepared at once.
