Pelican's Nest - Beef Burger

4 / 10

Pelican's Nest Wynnum is a good choice for fish and chips but their beef burger left a bit to desire, I haven't much to say about this burger.

The Pelican's Nest menu describes their beef burger as a;

Beef patty, cheese, tomato, gherkins, fried egg, mustard, ketchup, leaves.

The burger arrived with all of this and also some strange crunchy relish that really did nothing for me.

The beef patty was very plain and too small for the bun. The flavour of the cheese, tomato, gherkins, mustard, ketchup, and leaves all blended into each other in a really uninteresting way. The yolk of the fried egg was everywhere and unavoidable. And the bun was a little stale, and very dry.

This burger had no particularly domineering flavour, and to me was just an uninteresting beef burger, and although I do understand that this is a fish and chip shop, so their burgers are probably an afterthought, I would say if you're after a burger in this area, you will find better choices.
