Update: Even better, less pickles, and served with a huge serve of fries. Loved it.

The Burger that started it all. I've always loved burgers, but this one I just had to write about. This photo was taken just as I had bitten into this delicious burger, and so no doubt I'll need to go back for more, at least for the picture of how well this burger was presented.

The Whisky Business Double Cheeseburger was to me, a nostalgic trip back in time to my high school cafeteria. The school cook, Belinda, would make fresh, house made beef and onion patties every day to make Burgers.
They were simple, buns, patty, cheese, and your choice of sauce, and they were some of the thiCCest, juiciest burger patties I had ever eaten. They were one of my favourites, and a favourite of a lot of my peers also.

Whisky Business' Double Cheeseburger was this, but beefed up (literally).
Not one, but (as the name suggests), two huge beef patties that were obviously prepared in-house, and with a lot of love.
Topped with a slice of cheese for each patty, onion, pickles, american mustard and relish, and finished in a lightly toasted brioche bun.

The pickles were authentic, sliced longitudinally rather than laterally, these pickles packed a flavourful punch, though some may find them too much. The bun was perfectly prepared, not overdone, and fresh, enhancing the flavour of the burger overall. The blend of flavour of the beef, cheese, and onion was good, and the mustard and relish tied everything together very nicely.

This burger was the official start of El Gringo's Burger Reviews, and a strong recommendation for a great meal, made simple and quick and with a lot of classic burger flavour.

The Round Up

Price:

$12 burger, $4 for a small fries, and $6 for large fries.

Value:

$16 for the burger, and fries puts this just below the average cost for a good burger, however, it is one of the best I have eaten. Good value for a great meal.

Presentation:

Prepared in a wide basket with fries on the side. Classic look, well prepared.

Taste:

Authentic American taste, bold pickles, bold mustard, and a touch of relish. The beef and onion patties tasted exactly like they were, thicc juicy beef and onion patties. And we can't have a cheeseburger without cheese.

Sides:

Fries prepared like fries, thin cut, fried, no over-the-top seasoning, lightly salted, and packing a lot of crunch.
Ordered with a deluxe shake - TRY THESE

Venue:

Well Placed, busy but comfortable, easy to find and easy to park, styled well.

Prep Time:

Fast, had the burger on my table not long after ordering, hot and ready.
